Hey all,

Prasanna Vithanage just called me.  He had nothing but good things to say about the play.  He’d seen it last night, and called it one of the ‘best pieces of theatre I have ever seen.’  He was specially taken by the fact that we had taken very current issues and brought them to the fore, saying that it is a brave piece of work and unbelievably imaginative, without a blot of sentimenatlism or heavy-handedness.

He said he also liked all the performances, as he felt everybody gave it their all, and gave the whole thing subtlety and helped in the subtext.  When people like him thought no one was commenting about what was  happening in the country now, this play comes along, he said.  Overall, he loved it, and thought it was fantastic!

The Travelling Circus is  performing on the grounds of the Anglican Cathedral, which is next to the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH) on Bauddhaloka Mawatha.
